Stay away from Iced Cold Drinks to benefit your lungs, heart and stomach

Think of the esophagus like a pipe that sits right over the heart, touches the air of the lungs and goes to the stomach.  When you run iced cold liquid through this pipe, it contracts the surrounding tissues.  Now, imagine the body was heated up through excercise and then iced cold liquid was sent through the pipe that touches the air of the lungs, the tissues of the heart and sits in the stomach.  If you have ever poured boiling water into a cool glass cup, you already have an idea of what happens to the tissues and blood vessels.  Over time, the blood vessels weaken and or become damaged.

Let's talk about the lungs.  Chronic consumption of cold foods and drinks weakens the lungs and the entire body.  The lungs are responsible for accumulating oxygen for the needs of the entire body so when you are short on oxygen, every tissue suffers.  Observe for yourself how it feels when you cough because the lungs got too cold.  If you simply drink some warm water or inhale some steam, you will feel relief.

Next, let's talk about the heart.  Coronary arteries and veins are blood vessels that are dedicated soley to the heart itself.  Some of them are so small that only one cell can pass through at a time.  When ice damages or kills these cells, sometimes the dead cells don't have room to flush out with fresh blood .  Then when these vessels get clogged up, your heart can not get the oxygen and nutrition it needs for itself and the life blood pump is compromised. Iced cold liquid touching the heart will continually weaken the muscle over time.  Think about trying to move when it is freezing.  It is hard to move.  Even your fingers stiffen easily in a cold air conditioned office.  Why would you think the heart was any different?

Lastly, let's discuss the stomach.  Iced cold food and drinks will weaken digestion.  The blood that supplies the stomach will slow because of the cold temperature and therefore, digestion will slow down.  Additionally, imagine cold oil vs. warm oil in your stomach.  Which one do you think is easier to digest.  Imagine eating a frozen chunk of bacon out of the freezer.  It is difficult for your body to extract nutrition in these conditions and chronically over time, the entire body will suffer from nutritional deficiencies.  It is less about what you eat than what you digest.
