Simple Way to Prevent a Heart Attack in Hot Weather

After elevating your heart rate in hot weather or hot yoga etc., refrain from reaching for an iced drink.  Drink cool or room temperature liquids instead.

Here's why:  Firstly, the esophagus sits right on the heart and as ice cold liquid runs down the pipe, it causes the coronary arteries and veins to freeze, weaken and collect dead blood cells.  It may be experienced as a short stabbing pain in the chest.  Over time, the heart is weakened and due to the decreasing access to oxygen, makes the heart susceptible to malfunction.

Secondly, ice slows down blood flow making the heart struggle to contract.  Make the heart struggle enough and it will give out.

Thirdly, the extreme difference in temperatures is shocking and damaging to the tissues and may cause some blood vessels to simply break.

Although your body is amazing and can heal itself completely most of the time, by putting stress on it over and over may overwhelm the system causing it to malfunction or fail.
