Did You Know? What You can Digest is More Important Than What You Eat
You can eat 100% organic and have all that beautiful food turn to aama (a substance your body can neither digest nor eliminate) or you can eat sketchy frankenfoods and have it turn into nectar. Let's face it the body is amazingly adaptable. If you do not have an abundance of clean water and organic food available to you, you can still extract what ever nutrients are available if you eat a small enough amount. As a guideline, if your food is not proper, eat only as much as can fit in one hand. That is about 1/2 of a slice of delivery pizza. If your food is easy to digest, 2 handfuls of food and a handful of water is proper.
The guidelines per Ayurveda (The Science of Life) is adaptable and beneficial at every level. Every bit of truth you learn can be used immediately and be immediately beneficial. Most of these rules had been woven into the culture that was passed on from grandmother to mother to child. There were rules for all of our daily routines. Now that most of us have to relearn them, it may seem like a daunting task. I had one professor tell me that even getting a Bachelors of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery is the equivalent of a drop of water when the knowledge is the size of the ocean! Each drop, however can assist you permanently and will accumulate over time. It is well worth applying even one bit of knowledge. So I encourage you to digest well and live well.
