The heat is here, and for some of us, that means the weather is taking a serious toll on our bodies and emotions. Going out with family or friends can be tough with the heat making everyone tired and grumpy. Not to worry, though, because we're about to disclose an extremely helpful little secret to you...

Get cool with the "cooling breath!" This amazing little trick is an effective and totally free way to cool yourself down from the inside. It's also very useful for keeping the family happy during the hot summer. When the sun is beating down on you during your happy, expensive theme park trips, get all the kids doing the cooling breath. Tell them something like, "Only cool kids are gonna have the most fun today!" They'll be happy to participate in the little game, and they'll also be protecting their health... but that's your little secret.

Here's how to do the cooling breath:
• Step 1: Make a taco tongue. (If you can't do a taco tongue, you can round your lips like you're saying "ooooh" ['oo' sound as in 'boot']).
• Step 2: Inhale through the taco tongue, without changing the speed of your breath. Keep your throat open when you inhale so the cool air goes down your windpipe.
• Step 3: Close your mouth and swallow your breath. This will sink the cool air down into your stomach.
• Step 4: Exhale through your nose.
Give this a try, and notice the effect it has on your body. You should feel an internal cooling effect start to happen. If it doesn't happen right away, give it a little time. Be sure to take normal-paced, soft, smooth breaths.
