You'll Love this Anti-Aging Summer Recipe
If you suffer from any discomfort that involve burning sensations i.e., acid reflux, burning sensations in the eyes, urine, hands, feet etc., you will want to keep this ancient Chinese recipe around in your fridge from May 15 through November 15th every year. Don't eat too much.
Ingredients:
3 white wood ear mushrooms
1/4 cup mung beans
1/4 cup ice sugar (very clear rock sugar). Similar to rock sugar.
Optional:
8-10 red jujube dates - to balance out the cold nature of this dish
1/4 cup of pearl barley - to eliminate swelling and bloating in the skin
Recipe
1. Soak 3 white wood ear mushrooms overnight.
2. Drain water and in a medium pot, cut into bite sized pieces around the hard center core right into the pot.
3. Rinse the mung beans and barley and add them to the pot.
4. Add 1/4 cup or so of ice sugar to taste.
3. Add 6 cups of water and bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for 30 to 45 minutes. Optionally: add dates and simmer for 20 additional minutes
4. Let the liquid cool and keep in the refrigerator. Serve about a cup in a bowl with some liquid and enjoy!
