This Simple Breathing Trick will Reduce Your Stress Tremendously
Your diaphragm is neurologically connected to a huge chunk of your spine. This means that a malfunctioning diaphragm will negatively affect almost your whole nervous system. Therefore, if you can’t breathe with your diaphragm, you can’t relax, period. Diaphragm breathing is an essential skill if you want to live stress-free. Practice diaphragm breathing by placing one hand on your chest and one hand on your abdomen. When you inhale, inflate the belly and push against the hand that’s on your abdomen. When you exhale, shrink the belly back in. The hand on the chest should be completely still, not heaving up or down at all. Alternatively, you can try lying on the floor and placing both hands on your abdomen. When you breathe in, inflate your belly and push your hands up. When you exhale, bring the belly and hands back down.
