The hot, humid days of late summer are here, and many of us probably don’t feel like eating much. If your appetite disappears when it’s intensely hot and sunny outside, there’s nothing wrong with skipping a few meals. In fact, fasting is a great way to rid your body of toxins.

Not every day is hot and sunny, though. Some days are cloudy and a bit cooler. This season has 2 distinct weather patterns that require different diet strategies. Don't worry, we're going to make it simple. Here's how to keep your diet in good shape during this bipolar season:

Weather Pattern 1: Hot and Sunny

We recommend fasting on the hot and sunny late summer days. If that sounds scary, don't worry. It's easier to heat less in the intense heat and humidity. If you do want to eat something on these sunny days, try a melon (remember to eat melons ALONE, with nothing else, not even other melons). Melons are refreshing, hydrating, and delicious to boot.

Weather Pattern 2: Cloudy

The cloudy, cooler days of the late summer might bring your appetite back a little. If you’re wondering what to eat on these days, here are 2 diet recommendations that will keep you in balance with the season:

  1. Chips and salsa - Eat something a little dry to balance out your body with the humid climate. The little kick of the salsa will also help cut through the humidity. The lime and lemon in the salsa will also help your digestion.

  1. Soups - Hot, clear soup is a great remedy for the humid, cloudy days. We recommend adding plenty of digestive spices (salt, lime, pepper, etc.) to keep your gut healthy during this tough season. This is actually a good time of year for a Vietnamese soup called pho.

SINCE it is generally recommended to eat less in this season, AND you've already lost your appetite to the heat, it's the perfect time for Toxic Weight be Gone. Nature is actually trying to help you lose weight right now… imagine that! Click here to order Toxic Weight be Gone.

If you’re interested in living in harmony with the seasons, consider taking one of our Ayurveda classes.
